Rick Meeks
The Centralia Sports Hall of Fame
2001 Individual Award Winner


 

Playing on Centralia High School basketball teams that compiled records of 18-8 (1970) and 18-10 (1971). Meeks averaged 22.57 points per game his Senior year (632 points) and totaled 1080 career points. 

He was the 1970 Centralia Holiday Tournament MVP as the Orphans took second place. The Evansville Courier and Press named him first team All-South Seven Conference and honorary captain on their All-Southern Illinois Team. 

He was named second team All-State by the Champaign News Gazette, and was a member of the Chicago Daily News Ten Man All-State Team. Meeks played three years of basketball at Illinois State University.
