John Scott
The Centralia Sports Hall of Fame
1984 Individual Award Winner


 

Scott was a Centralia High School All-State basketball stand-out in the 1930’s. On the track he held CHS 880 record at 2:00.3 in 1937. 

He was basketball captain at Illinois State University in 1942. In one memorable ISU game he scored 21 points as they beat UCLA 37-21. That UCLA team had a player by the name of Jackie Robinson. 

John later played with the Globetrotters.
