Bill and Mildred Castleman were fixtures at Centralia High
School sporting events for 7 decades. Both attended
CTHS during one of the glory ages of sports.
Mildred mentioned that
three of her four years in school the basketball team placed at state.
Bill was a member of the famed “Wonder
Five” team of 1941.
Win or lose, the Castlemans were always faithful followers.
They were bundled up on a cold night at a football game when
most have departed, or you could see them at every home game of the basketball
Orphans and Annies.
Age and health issues limited their
attendance at some events you could be assured they
were sitting next to the radio listening
intently to game broadcasts.
